Simple Maui does it Again!

Maria and Juan flew in to Maui from Balboa, California to celebrate their beach wedding with loved ones. They had originally planned to have their ceremony on Southside Beach but thanks to a little rainstorm we relocated to Sugar Beach in North Kihei. We took some of their bride and groom portraits on the Kealia Boardwalk, which was fun since Sugar Beach is the only beach in Maui with a boardwalk. After saying their vows they took a walk down the beach at sunset and paused for a moment to celebrate with a spontaneous audience in a passing canoe. To top off a gorgeous evening, Juan collects stolen pens wherever he goes and decided that a great Maui souvenir would be the fancy pen that we let our couples use to sign their marriage certificates. Enjoy your Pen Juan, and sorry to our future couples who will need to sign with a Bic for the time being.

Vibrant Colors and Black Sand - Regina & Ruben's Maui Wedding Preview - by Maui Photographer Karma Hill

I had so much fun with Regina & Ruben, these two are just so cute and happy together and were both relaxed and happy as they celebrated their Maui wedding with their close friends and family.  They were married on the amazing Naupaka Black Sand beach in Makena.  This location is very unique and almost always empty due to the fact that you have to take a road full of dirt moguls to get there! Almost loosing the fender on my Prius was worth it however when we arrived and the light was perfect and glowing and the brightly colored flowers were a shock of color against the beautiful black sand.  I was also totally impressed with how crafty and creative Regina is, she created custom hangers for all the ladies dresses, amazing hand made invitations delivered in a bottle and umbrellas for their photos. You should check out her etsy store if you want some cool stuff for your wedding:

she was so excited to put on her wedding dress!

How adorable are these invitations!!

No, he wasn't answering his phone! They exchanged vows via iphone :)

Dimitri Photography and Dellables

* We always enjoy seeing photographer layouts of an entire wedding.  There you can see how our Dellables florals integrate into the event.  Outside of a studio shot you can feel the magic that both flowers and the celebration invoke, and that is always the best picture.
Here Dimitri Photography does just that!  Here's their blog post....

gail and virgil :: the makena golf and beach resort

Gail and Virgil - this sweet and FUN couple stole our hearts. Their pure love and tender affection for each other are one of a kind. Both being the youngest of of their families, their wedding was extremely special for both sides. An exceptional celebration with friends and family from California, New Jersey, Texas and even the Philippines. 2 and 3 child families coming all that way - now thats love!
Virgil put tears in my eyes every time he spoke to Gail. What a complete gentleman :) Their ceremony was so heart felt with the Filipino wedding tradition of arras, which is the exchange of coins to symbolize their promise to support each other, followed by the tradition of the veil and the cord. These unique traditions full of culture and meaning made it all so sentimental.
We were so honored to photograph such a special couple's wedding - Congratulations Gail and Virgil! Thanks for the good times ......... and the gray goose ;)
Ciao, Sandra

Haku Lei for Keiki

Keikis, or children, are always the cutest part of any wedding!

Providing them with a beautiful Haku Lei to wear on their head makes them feel so important and involved.  And, they take great pictures as well!

Another advantage of having a Haku Lei for children is that up on their head it is safe from figgety fingers.

This particular young lady was part of a Marry Me Maui and Joe D'alessandro took this wonderful picture.

Remember to keep the keiki involved on your wedding and you will certainly go home with some of the cutest pictures ever.
