Matt & Diana ~ Gannons Wailea Wedding

Sunday, October 31, 2010

I know that I have been slacking on my blog lately! It has been quite a crazy month! I have so many wonderful weddings to share.. November is the month to get caught up.
Last month I had the pleasure of working with Matt & Diana on their special day. Diana got ready at the beautiful Sheraton Kaanapali. When we arrived she had all the details ready for us. She had her hair styled by Mira a bit earlier at the Four Seasons, Wailea. She wore an elegant Pronovias gown and rock BCBGstilettos. I loved the vibrant bouquets made by Della Peacock of Dellables.
After getting dressed we headed to Gannon’s for the Ceremony. I love Gannons! It has to be one of my favorite locations. The light is always brilliant and the trees add such a nice element.
As the ceremony began, Matt stood at the alter waiting to see his exquisite bride for the first time. The look on his face as her dad escorted her down the isle was a perfect mix of excitement & joy. They were surrounded by an lovely group of family and friends as they said their I do’s.
After the ceremony we headed to Po’olenalena for a few sunset portraits. We could not have asked for a better sunset.. the evening was calm with beautiful colors lighting up the sky.
After sunset we headed back to Gannon’s for their reception dinner. The Upper Pond at Gannons is the perfect location for a small, intimate dinner with you close family and friends. The food was delicious. The evening ended with a fun cake cutting and a bit of dancing.
Congratulations Matt & Diana! I am so happy we were able to capture your day.. We wish you the best in your new life as husband and wife!

Thinking Outside the Sandbox: A Gathering at Haiku Mill

Love the Pacific Weddings mention!

On March 24th, we joined forces with the fabulous Sylvia Hamilton-Kerr, owner of the Haiku Mill, to invite Maui’s top wedding professionals to join us for cocktails and a bit of inspiration. Our theme was “Think Outside the Sandbox”, and I shared my personal insights on how we can all work together to stand out among an international class of wedding designers and vendors. Maui florist, Della Peacock of Dellables, worked her magic with the colorful centerpieces, a reception table idea featured in a previous story of Pacific Weddings®. The grounds of the Haiku Mill added to the vibrant display with orange vines exploding in full bloom all around the party.  Chefs from Tommy Bahama were perhaps the highlight of the evening, serving up a scrumptious array of appetizers and my favorite dessert— the chocolate butterscotch pudding—seriously one of the most divine things I have ever tasted!  Maui photographer, Kim Aihara, was there to capture these beautiful images–thank you so much Kim, Della, Sylvia and the Tommy crew!
