Lisa and Daniel found the perfect love. On May 23, 2012, exactly 365 days from their storybook proposal in Italy on the Via Dell’Amore in Cinque Terre, their families— his from Australia and hers from Canada— joined together for the first time on the island of Maui. The intimate celebration was held at theKa’anapali Coffee Plantation, a private estate set against the lush West Maui mountains in Lahaina. The bride says, “Daniel and I both wanted to have a simple wedding with our immediate families and a handful of close friends— nothing over the top.” Maui photographer Trish Barker captured the gorgeous celebration.

The couple’s wish list for an unforgettable event was a serene location and incredible food and wine. “We found exactly what we wanted at the Ka’anapali Coffee Plantation,” Lisa says. As for the décor, their vision for “classic romance on a coffee farm” was realized with whimsical flowers, burlap linens and soft candlelight.

Guests were gifted coffee from the Ka’anapali Coffee Plantation and a plantable lock and key {a fun reference to the couple’s engagement story on the Via Dell’amore}. The wedding day turned from wind and rain to clear skies at the perfect moment. A rainbow even appeared in the distance at the end of the ceremony, led by Pastor Laki Ka’ahumanu, a descendant of Hawaiian Royalty. Lisa shares a fun fact, “Laki also starred on the Hawaiian episode of Modern Family!”
