Back in May, my good friends from Southern California – Alice of Alice Hu Photography and Serena of Serena Grace Photography were here on Mau`i to shoot a destination wedding.  They graciously invited me to join them and we had so much fun documenting Midori and Kenny’s wedding at the beautiful Haiku Mill.  Thanks so much for having me.  You gals are awesome!
I am no stranger to the Haiku Mill.  Since 2007, I have planned and shot a lot of weddings/events there, and Sylvia (the owner) and Allie (their coordinator) are always such a joy to work with.  There are so many wonderful details of this wedding that I’d like to share, so without further ado, here they are:

Featured Wedding - Karen & Micah

reposting from the AWESOME blog of Away Soiree!  Dellables had the opportunity to do the florals for Karen and Micah, and Evonne has featured us in her post, below.  Mahalos!

Featured Wedding - Karen & Micah

Karen first contacted me last April for her wedding this May.  Although she and Micah didn’t get a chance to fly out to Maui for a scouting trip prior to their wedding, we did everything by phone and by email and we had a great time planning the wedding together.
They wanted a Filipino Catholic ceremony, so after looking at photos of a few churches, they finally decided on the beautiful Holy Rosary Church - one of my favorites on the island!  Plus Father Patrick is such a wonderful priest.  The reception was held at the amazing Sugarman Estate.
Without further ado, here are some of the photos from their very special day:

BUTTERFLIES: The Maui Butterfly Farm. CAKE & CATERING: Catering from Soup to Nuts. FLORALS & CHANDELIERS: Dellables. LANTERNS: Pacific Isle Rentals. LINENS & RENTALS: Island Rents. PHOTOS: Dulce by Visionari.
For their special entertainment, Karen hired “Auntie Maddy” and her group of dancers to perform a few Filipino, Hula and Tahitian dances.  Everyone really enjoyed it.
Congrats, Karen and Micah.  All the best to you both, and when I am in town to visit my sister-in-law and her family in Boston, I will definitely let you know!
