the Day After...

The Big Day has come and gone, with all its pomp and circumstance. The band is still sleeping, the Bride and Groom are on a snorkle tour, and the tents and tables are all folded and put away.

The lucky flowers got to go home with someone, maybe the Groom's mom or the Bride's sister. The bouquets stand tall in fine vases scattered among fine resorts and vacation rentals by the sea. However some are left, abandoned, and certainly by now, forgotten.

Fine, colorful flowers they were, and still are. Once praised and even photographed they are now alone and sitting atop an ancient wooden chest, wishing they could weather time as well.
